CULINARY/KITCHEN TOOLS

There is NO shellac, varnish, lacquer, or any other finish on any kitchen tool. The wood sheen comes from polishing using a buffer. Please see 'Utensil Care' at the bottom of this page.

All my culinary products are hand carved and finished with a food safe finish for complete and lasting comfort. Some spoons are sanded to 400 grit. Others are sanded and polished up to 2000 grit, using no finish at all--totally NAKED wood!

CULINARY CARE INSTRUCTIONS (NOT DISHWASHER SAFE!)
Hand-wash utensil using any mild dish soap, then rinse. Immediately towel -dry.
OPTIONAL CARE: An occasional light sanding with 400 or 600 grit sand paper will keep your utensil feeling smooth and soft. Afterward, apply sesame oil, mineral oil, or high quality tung oil to restore the natural wood color. I use paper towels for this. Wipe off any remaining oil. Finally, I use high quality food safe wax for added luster, yielding a silky smooth finish. Try to avoid using Pledge, Endust, or liquid polish/cleaner. They dull the wood surface and don't taste very good:)
